Zach Stern’s Naya Tokens

I've always been a fan of token strategies in all formats so, while looking through the top decklists from the Pro Tour, this list immediately caught my attention. Zach's deck is different from anything I've seen come out of Pro Tour Dragons of Tarkir. On the surface, it looks like your typical RW Tokens deck. We have a variety of token producers in Hordeling Outburst, Raise the Alarm, and Goblin Rabblemaster; plus your suite of burn spells in Stoke the Flames and Lightning Strike.

What makes this list stand out is its anthem effects and reach. First, Zach plays a new card out of Dragons of Tarkir, Atarka's Command. Most of the time Atarka's Command will be giving +1/+1 to your team and three damage to your opponent, which translates into a ton of damage. If you have three tokens in play, Atarka's Command will deal six damage. There aren't many spells in Standard that can deal that much damage for only two mana.

Dictate of Heliod is card that I was surprised to see at the Pro Tour, but it is amazing in this deck. With this enchantment in play, all of your tokens become huge threats. Your opponent will have to use multiple removal spells to take out your tokens, which means that each of your token producers will provide card advantage in the long run.

Secure the Wastes is another new card out of Dragons of Tarkir. When I first read this card, I didn't even think it was real. We've seen similar cards before it such as Decree of Justice and Martial Coup, and those were either sorceries or had some heavier mana requirements. The instant speed and low initial mana cost is something that I did not expect to see on a card for Standard. I think this card is great, and I would expect to see more of it going forward. I'd like to see an updated list with Purphoros, God of the Forge.
