Red-Green Beatdown at Grand Prix Seville

The green decks I've introduced this week were both ramp decks. They both played mana creatures into large creatures. Today's deck, however, is all about speed. Kyle Brennan's list is a red-green beatdown deck. The deck minimizes mana acceleration to add the popular strategy of playing aggressive two-mana creatures to win the game.

This archetype also had a nice recruit from Fate Reforged. Shaman of the Great Hunt is the perfect card for this deck. You can't utilize a 4/2 haste attacker if the opponent has a set of blockers, but not so if you're an aggro deck. Worst comes to worse, this deck doesn't mind trading, especially if other attackers can get through for damage and even get +1/+1 counters from the Shaman.

A best-case scenario would be casting Heir of the Wilds into Fanatic of Xenagos on the play, dealing 7 damage with haste and 6 more with the Shaman the next turn. There should be two 4/4 creatures left on the table with the opponent at 7 life. That's far enough for Stormbreath Dragon or a burn spell to finish the job.

And to top it all off, can you believe the Shaman even lets you draw cards?
